Railway Ties?

robinstApril 13, 2010

Does anyone know where you can dispose of railway ties in Ontario? We purchased a house and they are on the property. Are there any environmental companies that will pick them up?

Have you called whomever takes away your regular trash? How about the local community government?

Most trash companies also recycle. Waste Management is one that I believe operates in Ontario.

Those things can be valuable. Try putting them on craigslist for $8-10 each.

"Most trash companies also recycle."

Railroad ties old enough will have creosote treatment and are not recyclable.

See if you can sell them to someone.

Thanks for your comments. We found a local independent garbage site that would take them for a fee.

Thanks,
