The lower panel of a white-finished aluminum storm door has been attacked with a black felt-tipped marker. The "artist" had some talent. I prefer the factory finish to anything I can apply to cover the marker. What cleaner is likely to remove the most of the marker without damaging the original white finish?

That is the solvent used inmost permanent markers.

Test anything you try on an inconspicuous spot first.

Try anything you have on the shelf after testing on an inconspicuous spot. The colored chemical has to be soluble in something.
