Can anyone reccomend an online store to buy hurricane impact windows and doors?
Online is not generally the way to purchase windows especially impact windows, and I am not aware such a site exists.
These items are often large enough to require motor freight shipping.
The rules can be a real PITA.
They generally just show up and expect to find a loading dock with crew to unload the trailer.
If you take to long unloading it costs more money.
A call before arrival costs more money, the driver will generally not help unload.
The trailers do not have lift gates, ramps, or any other way to get things out.
There ARE special services you can pay for (like lift gate service) but the shipping costs start going up.
The packages have to be moved from a large over the road trailer to a smaller truck at a depot.
I don't know where you're located, but in FL you must have them professionally installed by a company that certifies the installation to qualify for any discount on your homeowner's, and they're not going to come out and install and certify windows you don't buy through them. I would guess that is the case in most states.
