Can someone tell me what this textured ceiling is called, or (better yet) how to reproduce it after replacing a portion of drywall?
It looks kind of like my friends cieling, they called it stipling(not sure on spelling), and they did it with a big like 6 inch round brush and just kinda dab it on. Any texture is hard to match even if you did the original work. Blending edges is usually difficult, but yours looks kind of random so it may be easier. Just practice on something else first
Looks like it's spelled "stipple" and you can buy brushes to do it. I'll be able to google for tips now at least :)
This is a stipple "effect texture on the drywall. There are many ways of achieving this. I invite you to visit my site http://www.handymanaustintexas.com If you email me I will give you ideas and ways for you to make different types of textures on your drywall repairs. Texture ing is a great and affordable way to add value to your home. If you learn to do this yourself, it may not hurt to do a remodel on your home, and do this throughout your house!
