Screw Driving Garage Door Opener and Cold Weather

I live in Michigan so our weather gets very cold and snowy in the winter. I hear that chain driven are better than screw driven. The screw driven ones tend to cause problems. Is that true?

If you keep the screw drive properly lubricated, the temps found there shouldn't be an issue.
