Removing Tile Thinset

woodturner1January 10, 2010

I have just removed the ceramic tile from a concrete floor. Is it possible to use concrete floor leveler to bring up the level to the highest point of the thinset.

If that is possible, I will still have enough room to set the new tile.

This will save a ton of work in getting the thinset off the floor.

Thanks for your help

If the area is any larger than a bathroom, leveler is too difficult to get even since it sets too quickly - will end up looking like a lava flow. A tool rental place will have a tool with disc (don't know the name) that can scrape it down fast.
