Help 2 Different Granites. Oak Cabs throughout

Larry412April 21, 2013

I have an open kitchen with an island. I am thinking of doing absolute black on the perimeter counters and pers caravellas granite on the island in the middle of kitchen as a focal point.

After reading opinions, it seems as thought people suggest two different can colors for 2 different granites.

Thoughts? Help?

Pers caravellas is a busy black, cream, tan granite.

I think you mean "cabinet" colors instead of "can" colors. It all just depends-what is the desirability of the existing island..... counters come and go in the life of a kitchen. Islands being so much in the middle of a space can warrant some budget allocation for upgrades or complete re-do. The older amber or yellow-orangey oak is probably past it's due date and the whole setup, if that's what you have, might warrant serious scrutiny.Counters aren't really super cheap regardless of what you pick, so be careful of what is underneath as far as it's legitimate claim/or NOT, in your space. Try to post a pic.

I prefer and recommend a different approach than what you've read: two counter surfaces OR two cab colors. Not both.

A lot depends n the specific cabinets and the specific granites. Posting some pictures would help.
