Anyone have experience with Pentalquartz? Also known as Vicostone

MindySchAugust 23, 2014

We stumbled upon Garden Web while preparing for our upcoming kitchen remodel and I must say this is the most intelligent network of reviews out there. So our question for you all -- we definitely want a quartz composite product for our remodeled kitchen's countertop. Our local independent showroom tells us Cambria is a great company and product. However, one of the color/styles we've found and like is Pentalquartz. I can't find many reviews of the company or product online. I believe it has also been known as Vicostone. Can anyone help me with a review or two?

I have the Botticino pattern. It's made in Vietnam on Breton technology so it's the same as the other major brands. Pental in Seattle started as a granite supplier and got into the quartz business with Vicostone. They do not own Vicostone, only distribute it with their label. It was called Pental Chroma about three years ago when we first looked at it and was renamed Pentalquartz about two years ago when we bought it. I didn't like it any better or worse than Caesarstone, Cambria, etc., but I live near Portland and could go pick my slabs from their warehouse. Quartz will have some imperfections that aren't covered by warranty (resin drips or blobs), so you want to go to the warehouse if possible. If not, be sure to be view your slab at templating.
