Here we go again......it's taken awhile but I finally feel like I can focus again.

These are my plans for November:

I think I may be ready to get back on track too, Sharon! The last 2 months have gone by in a blur.

I don't have my machine back yet but I'm hoping to get back to the hand applique quilt. I have 2 trips in November - one for business and one for fun, so it's a good time to put that hand sewing kit together and bring it with me.

I must, must, must finish quilting Blushing Aspens by Thanksgiving when my sister comes to visit so I can give it to her. I also would like to hand-sew the binding on the Christmas tablerunner I made. Beyond that, all is gravy. Lois

I'm taking a trip, too, Kate. So I plan on cutting more squares for my Grandmother's Garden to hand sew. My daughter will be in town for Thanksgiving and can refresh my memory on how she wanted her quilt designed. We bought the fabric, but I couldn't find her sketch when I got home from Colorado. Hope to prepare the fabric before then. I'm also working on the Nov. lotto blocks tonight. I almost have one square done, so I hope it measures correctly. :)

Hopefully a quiet, nesting month with some time for quilting. I'm working on a blue/cream Carpenter's Wheel with the drop part of the quilt to be Roberta's Jewels. Just taking my time with this one and shall keep it in the background as I do other quilting project, or doing more Jewel Box blocks shall drive me daft. I found the price on wool suiting yesterday and it jolted me into planning on starting my wool quilt as well. The going price seems to be $30 a yard and I have tucked away in my stash many, many yards of it in ecru, tan, brown, black and green I bought when a fabric store closed down in the mid 80s. The thought of sitting on hundreds of dollars of wool fabric gave me the heebie-jeebies. Get it out lady and just DO IT so you can enjoy it this winter. When I bought the wool, I also bought the equivalent yardage in nice, heavy silk lining and since the batting shall be wool, and I'll not be laundering it I might just back it in the soft silk. It would be heavenly to cuddle under. I cannot remember what I paid for it now, but it was marked down so much way back then it was almost embarrassing. I've never even measured the yardage.

I want to get this wedding signature quilt finished this month. Then I can start on fun things and Xmas things. Have lots of UFOs sitting around here to work on just for fun. I will drag another old top out to practice the FMQ on so I can get back to my frame again.

November goals
1) Finish the top I started at the retreat - need by Christmas
2) December lotto (that may consume the bulk of November)
3) Survive finishing the basement at home
4) Vacation on the beach while consuming a turkey leg

I'm intrigued by Calliope's wool quilt...can't wait to see it... good luck to all!

Well I just finished all the 195.75 hours of hand-quilting on my Grandma's queen-size garden-themed quilt. Yeah!!! :-)

During November I want to:
1. Cut and sew binding on Grandma's quilt
2. Cut more fabric pieces for my Granny Square quilt project
3. Make at least 1 Lotto block
4. Start embroidering pillow cases for a Christmas present

We are planning to do some RVing soon so am preparing small hand-sewing, knitting, and crocheting projects to take with me.

Best to you,
quiltingfox

This month seemed to go by in a blur (pun intended) for me. I'm having major problems with my eye/s. Next month I'll be seeing a retina specialist to see if surgery on that should be done before cataract surgery and corneal surgery. Consequently, there hasn't been much sewing done around here.....but a little bit.

I did get the first border on 2 sides of Love in the Mist, finished putting white sashing around all the tonal crumb blocks I have done and started making the blue crumbs. Alas, I didn't get the Outing Horse quilt completed, but it's ready to be sandwiched and quilted. I also pulled out the UFO blocks for the Crumb Surprise I'm making and just need to complete the sashing. Guess I did more than I thought I had. :-)

I hope you all did more than you think you did, too.

Sharon, I hope all goes well with your eye surgeries!

I finished my meager goals for the month. :) I think that will be it for me, too. I usually don't get any sewing done in the evenings.

Sharon, Take care! I hope everything turns out okay.

I didn't have much success with my goals ...
1. Finish the last quilt top I made at Camp Cheerio - HAVE NOT EVEN STARTED!
2. Do the December block lotto (paper piecing) - TOOK ME 3 TRYS, BUT I GOT ONE DONE & MAILED.
3. Practice sewing on the featherweight! - PRINTED THE MANUAL FROM ONLINE.

I did teach my church quilt group how to make snap bags and luggage tags, and started piecing a DP16 patch for charity. I also bought fleece for 16 blankets for school and trimmed all the selvages & cut the corners.

Thank you, Donna. You completed your goals! Good for you. Hope your mom is getting better. I know how tiring it is to try and keep track of what's going on with parents when they're in the hospital/rehab/nursing home.

quiltnhen/LindaB/CA, Yes, it is miserable and I am surprised by the sewing I got done this month, since I can only sew maybe a half hour at a time.

Me, too, Sue. Don't feel bad about not getting done what you would have liked to. I know if they were necessary to do, you would have gotten them done. Snap bags: I've wanted to see how those were made.....maybe a class at retreat next year?

I also made a Dec lotto block, but can't get all the paper off of the back....probably won't be sending it. Working on black is no longer fun for me, but I think that's the only way this particular block could look so awesome!
