Pics of interesting buildings from around the world
Here is a link that might be useful: Buildings
Thank you, Annie - what a great range of architectural ideas.
The one in Cambridge gives me the williwaws. Hard to walk under a structure that looks as if it could fall on you at any minute! But since it's MIT, I guess it can be trusted not to!
Love the Center for the Performing Arts in China. The Building Museum in DC is the absolute best place to go on a sweltering summer day here. They offer wonderful field trip experiences for kids and it is a lovely venue for parties. Love that place!
All the pictures were fun and the artistic approaches of the photography made each building interesting even though some may not be when viewed in totality.
Thanks for sharing, Annie.
They chose a really odd angle to photograph the building at MIT--when you are driving or walking by it, it looks crumpled, but not as if it will fall on you.
But even MIT buildings can have issues. The Kresge Auditorium there, which was a design marvel when it was built, has suffered from either design flaws or engineering flaws and the roof has had to be fixed/replaced several times. It had to be closed completely for a year at one point.
