LOOKING for: Fun Popcorn Recipes

lacheleDecember 5, 2008

Hi, So my father's birthday is on the 13th and he is very hard to shop for. The only thing I could figure he wanted was a couple of large handled buckets that he uses for the horses. So I thought I could get him some of those and make it more fun by filling them with a bunch of bags of fun different popcorn. Just wondering if anyone has a favorite sweet, or spicy, or different popcorn recipe I could try. Thanks a bunch!

1/2 teaspoon Hickory-smoked salt
1/2 cup American cheese; grated
1/3 cup Bacon bits

Cheese And Garlic Popcorn Spice
===============================
1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese; Graded
2 teaspoons Salt
1 teaspoon Tarragon
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon Parsley flakes
. Mix ingredients together and store in tightly sealed container or
shaker, Mix spice with 4 tabspoons of melted butter and pour over
freshly popped popcorn, stir to coat.
* I use bruised mixed Italian herbs instead of the tarragon
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Heavenly Hash Popcorn
=====================
1/4 cup butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup pecans, toasted
6 cups popcorn, popped
4 cups miniature marshmallows
. In a heavy saucepan, put the butter, chocolate and pecans. Cook over a
moderate heat until melted, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
Pour over the popped corn and marshmallows. Stir well. Spread on a
buttered cookie sheet and refrigerate to cool.

For variations, you may wish to substitute butterscocth morsels or use
bitter chocolate. White chocolate pieces in place of chips make a
pretty white candy which can be colored and molded into shaped cake
pans. Yogurt candy coating can also be used for a more piquant flavor

Try this: Take a bag of Herr's Light Popcorn and a 16oz bag of almond bark (white chocolate coatings). Put popcorn in a large bowl, melt chocolate and coat popcorn. Spread out on wax paper or cookie sheet lined with parchment or waxed paper. Refrigerate to harden then just break it apart and bag it. I'm not big on white chocolate but I've been making & selling this for months now.
