LOOKING for: An older chicken noodle casserole recipe

This recipe uses 1 can chicken broth and 1 can cream of chicken soup. You put the uncooked noodles in the soup and let them set overnight. You add cut up chicken and... I don't know what else. Anybody have this old recipe.

I thought I had one like it but didn't, so I looked for over a hour and found this one. You can change it a bit and maybe it will work out.

Overnight Chicken noodle CASSEROLE:

2 cups cubed cooked chicken
1 (9 oz) pkg frozen mixed vegetables, slightly thawed
2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni (or noodles)
4 oz (1 cup) shredded American cheese
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
2 cups water (or broth)

1/2 cup plain bread crumbs 2 tablespoons margairine or butter, melted

1 In large bowl, combine all casserole ingredients; mix well. Pour into ungreased 8-inch square (1-1/2 quart) baking dish. Cover tightly; refrigerate 8 hours.

2 Heat oven to 350 F. In small bowl, combine topping ingredients; mix well. Stir casserole; sprinkle with topping. Bake at 350 F. for 45 to 55 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.

LOL! I thought you were looking for a recipe to cook an "old" chicken (what I believe used to be called a stewing hen).

Found it today........knew I had the recipe somewhere and it was in the collection of recipes I had put in a cookbook of ones I save.
Fix Ahead Chicken Casserole
2c diced cooked chicken
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1c water
1c evaporated milk
1 8oz package pasta shells
1 can drained peas
Do NOT cook shells. Combine all
ingredients and put into a Pam
sprayed baking dish. Refrigerate
overnight and then bake at 350°
for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

I found an Amish recipe for Chicken Asparagus Casserole I thought you might like.


2 stalks celery
(chop and steam to crispy tender)
1 4 oz. can mushrooms, drained
3 C. asparagus
4 oz. cooked chicken seasoned with 1 t. soy sauce


1/3 C. powdered lowfat milk
1/2 T. butter melted
1/2 t. dried mustard
1 C. water
mix and heat in water to thicken

Put first set of ingredients in casserole dish and pour sauce over asparagus and chicken. Top with grated cheese. Yields 2 servings
