Does anyone have a recipe for this without using mayo...I cant wing it because ive never tasted it because I dont eat mayo. Its my sisters favorite and shes on weight watchers and seriously watching her cholesterol. TIA
Substitute plain low fat yogurt for the dill
I would, in a blender, mix 1/2 cup fat free yogurt( plain!) with 2 T olive oil and 1/2 tsp Coleman's dry mustard, and "some" lemon juice. Start with a tablespoon full.
Then add dill to taste.
Ought to taste a lot like a mayo based dressing...but it's pretty healthy...no cholesterol in the olive oil, low salt and the mustard and lemon juice are the predominate tastes in mayo.
I use that and add garlic, worchestershire and some crumbled blue....which negates all the heart healthy stuff that went before!! LOL!
GREAT !! Thank you!
*slapping myself upside head* Don't know where my brain was yesterday s/have said substitute yogurt for mayo...
I take 1 container of plain yogurt and put it in a colander and put that colander in a bowl and cover it with a damp cloth and put in the fridge overnight ( this takes most of the water out). Next morning I put the yogurt in a food processor and add dill, garlic and salt to taste. I use this for my Greek food ( souvlaki) and I also use it for dipping veggys...so on. Nancy
