Does anyone know what's in this or how to make your own?
Here is the ingredient list from their web site:
"This perfect blend of onion, garlic, salt, pepper and other natural spices brings out the flavor of fresher, lighter foods without overpowering them. Use it on chicken, fish, vegetables, pasta and even salads. Try it in dips and salsa and as a topping on freshly baked bread and rolls. MSG-free."
It's those "other natural spices" that are difficult to reproduce. You may want to try Paula Dean's House Seasoning recipe adding some onion powder and paprika.
Here is a link that might be useful: Paula's House Seasoning
I've used Morton's Nature Seasoning for years, less so lately, most often combined with other seasonings.
This is from the label:
Contains: Salt, black pepper, sugar, spices, natural onion flavor, natural garlic flavor, parsley, celery seeds, calcium silicate.
sodium---380 mg =16 % of daily value
I add mixture of onion and garlic powder, red and black pepper, chili powder, paprika, celery seeds, all to taste. Add your preferred dried herbs- marjoram, tarragon, basil, thyme, oregano or/and other, if you like.
Many Salt Free Seasonings out there, our fav ,being in La, is Paul Prudhomme's Magic Salt-Free Seasoning.
I think it's roasted onion, garlic and peppers that I can't achieve so easily.
All up to your good taste.
