RECIPE: Streusel Filled Coffee Cake
This is better than all others I've made over the years. I think it's having the butter being the main flavor ingredient.
Streusel Filled Coffee Cake - from the 50's
1/4 c. butter (no substitute!)
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. flour, sifted
2 tsp. bk. pd.
1/2 tsp. salt
Cream butter & sugar; beat in egg.
Alternately stir in dry ingredients & milk.
Greased 8x8 pan - 1/2 batter; 1/2 streusel. repeat.
375 degrees - 30 min.
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c. chopped pecans
