RECIPE: What is your version of 'haystacks'

VangyMarch 5, 2007

I attended an SDA church sevice with the lady I take care of & they had a carry-in-dinner afterwards of "haystacks"

for the uninformed it is;

kidney bean chili, served over crushed, broken fritos or corndhips,

with the following toppers.

shredded lettuce, chopped black olives, shredded cheese, chopped onions, sour cream and salsa, more chips,

With sides of veggie tray, fresh fruits, desserts & drinks

Vangy likes to experiment w/ food.

use a spagetti scooper for the shredded cheese, works great

I've heard it called Frito pie.
