RECIPE: Frosting Pudding recipe

I'm looking for one of my mom's recipes for pudding frosting. All it had in it was instant Jello pudding, milk and sugar (not powdered). I just don't know the amounts of each. I remember one had to blend it forever, but it was by far, the best frosting! Can anyone help?

I found 2 types of pudding frosting.


1 c. milk
1 pt. heavy cream
2 pkgs. instant pudding (any flavor)

Partially whip heavy cream in bowl - add milk and pudding - continue to whip until thick. Use electric mixer to whip frosting.
This frosting can be used to frost 24 cupcakes or 2 cakes. Because this recipe contains milk, frosted cake or cupcakes must be refrigerated if not being used immediately, or cake should not be frosted until ready to serve.


1 (3 oz.) pkg. instant pudding, any flavor
1/4 c. powdered sugar
1 c. cold milk
1 (8 oz.) container Cool Whip, thawed

Combine pudding, sugar and milk in bowl. Blend well. Fold in Cool Whip. Frost cakes and store in refrigerator

I make and love the cool whip and pudding frosting, but do not use powdered sugar.
