The recipe in my book doesn't hold together. i just need some quick bar packed with protein and multigrains and flax to get me through busy days.

If you like the recipe you have, how about adding something to it to make it hold together, such as corn syrup or honey, or, if it's one you bake, would adding an eggwhite work?
