Valve actuator help needed

kitamimanDecember 29, 2010

If anyone can answer the following question (quickly), I would be very greatful, as I need to know the answer by tomorrow when I am installing the plumbing.

I am mounting a three-way valve that will be controlled by a Compool/Pentair valve actuator. I would like to mount the valve with the inlet at the 3:00 position and switched outlets at the 6:00 and 9:00 positions. However, this means that the valve actuator has to move the gate through 90 degrees from 6:00-9:00 rather than 180 degrees as is the case with the standard orientation (inlet port centered).

Will this result in any problems? Or can I adjust the Pentair valve actuator to move the gate through only 90 degrees (from the 6:00 to 9:00 positions).

There are adjustable cams in the unit to do this. The instructions should be in the box it came with.

Just make sure that it doesn't rotate so that it blocks off the inlet, or "dead heads" the system.
