hubby and I are having a small pool built and were thinking about getting a solar heater however a guy at our local Home Depot told us that they were a waste of money... can anyone who has a solar heater tell me how well they work??Thanks!!

Solar is the way to go. We have Aquatherm panels. They extend our swimming season without breaking the bank. We normally keep the pool temp between 88-92 degrees. Where are you located. PM me for additional info.

We just added solar late this summer so I don't have a lot of experience with it yet. But I can tell you that there were days when we actually had to turn the water off from going through the solar because it was making the pool too HOT and we have a pretty good size pool (19x38). I think it would definitely be worth it.

What does it cost to "add" solar to your pool cabogirl? I was told that adding heat after the fact was very complicated and expensive.
