Thinking about a Baby Lock Tiara

loisflanMay 30, 2014

My local sewing center is having a 48 month, no interest promotion. I have been considering the Tiara for a while, and I think I will go in tomorrow and take a test drive.

Does anyone have any comments on the Tiara? Do you have one? Have you sewn on one? I don't think I will ever have the space for a true long arm machine, and I'm thinking this might be a good option. What do you honestly think?

Thanks so much.

Lois, I would pass up a long arm anyday to have a sit down free motion machine! I think the Tiara would be a good choice although I don't have one so this is merely an opinion. I've tried the Handi Quilter Sweet 16, the APQS George and the Tiara. I like them all and would not turn any of them away, but if it was in my budget, I would get George.

The babylock is made by HandiQuilter, it is the same machine as the Sweet 16. Compare prices before you buy. They are fantastic machines.

Kate, what features make you favor the George?

I've only used them at quilt shows so I don't have much experience with any of them. So my choice is based completely on feel and ease of sewing, not on features or a price comparison. If I were really in the market for one I might favor the Sweet 16 because I know the local dealer.
