I have an older Hayward pool pump system that uses four filters. My question is, how often should you replace these filters? I do clean them frequently, but lately I seem to be doing it a lot more often. They are roughly 4 years old at this point. Thanks for any help.

Try soaking them in cheap powdered dishwasher detergent over night after rinsing them. This will degrease them of skin oils, tanning lotions, etc...

If the behavior continues after this, its time to replace them. 4 years is a very good run, btw.
