Old Pool Coping Replacement

fluffhead444July 9, 2014

Hi everyone. My pool is over 40 years old, but in decent shape other than the coping. All the pieces between the coping are broken and earth is settling into my pool! The deck surrounding is loose bricks in sand. Can I just have the coping replaced since no digging or breaking of concrete is necessary? What is an average (or highest since I'm in NY) cost for this. Pool is VERY large at 18 x 38 + 12 x 14 L shaped. THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE YOU HAVE.

Sure, coping can be replaced. Do you have traditional coping stone that is approximately 2' long? You can usually remorter the stone if it is just the grout that is loose.
Not sure about cost. I build on the left coast.
There are other options available such as brick, actual stone, and other products. You might check in at a tile/brick/stone supply company for info and contractors that do that type of work. good luck.
