Pool Tile Trim Strip

poolfanJune 8, 2011

We recently had our pool renovated. We went with river rok interior and stamped concrete decking. The PB installed a white plastic trim strip between the tile and concrete deck. I was advised this was necessary. However I just noticed that the plastic strip end/begins at the entrance to the skimmers. It does not file the tile all the way into the skimmers, leaving about 5" of tile with no trim. Is this a problem?

poolfan,
No. It is only installed along the perimeter of the pool.
It's called "water stop". It is designed to prevent water from migrating from the pool to the underside of the deck.

Anyone know where I can purchase the plastic strip in Central Florida, either at a store or on the Internet? I've tried serveral tile stores and they told me every tile contractor they know is using caulking. Bill
