timing for sealing redwood deck

pan2November 6, 2012

I have a new redwood deck. It was installed ~2 weeks ago and needs to be sealed. I'm told that I should wait ~1 month for it to fully dry out, but I'm in the CA bay area and the rainy season will be starting here soon. Should I try to seal it right away before the rain starts, or wait for the rain and subsequently for everything to dry out? Any advice is welcomed.

Where is Cali do you live? I live in the east bay/bay area and any deck I were to install 2 weeks ago, given the weather I have, would be dry enough.
