Our walkway from the garage tothe front house got partially destroyed because a tree was uprooted!. It is currently on bluestone,.too expensive to replace with same material. I have been thinking of pavers and have been told about 3 different types ( budget) : anchor Guard, monocast/Versa -Lok and Teco blocks. Part of the new area I want it to be a patio where I could park a car in winter months.

Any advise about the pavers and what sort of preparation I need inorder to support a car for years to come. Cement is not an option ( unles covered ( for the town looks).

Thanks for your help

When we do driveways, we use a minimum of 12" of compacted crusher run aggregate. Improper compaction is going to lead to some serious settling, especially if you're going to leave a car on it. So you're digging down at least 15" to accommodate the gravel, bedding sand, and pavers.
