Solar Blanket saves chlorine

obrionusaJune 19, 2012

Does anyone put their solar covers on to save on chlorine?

I used a solar cover about two years before it broke down. I ended up saving about 50 percent of chlorine. I just now bought another solar cover and just got it on. Also I dont have to run my pump as much.

I use a solar blanket in May and September, to cut down on heating costs (because during those months, swimming is more rare, anyways). It does save on running my pump (and running my chlorine generator), but honestly, it is really ugly and a pain to work with (pool odly shaped, so a roller doesn't really work).

I wish someone would come up with something as efficient (or more), that wasn't such a pain...They would make 100s of millions if not more.....

(Haven't tried any of the liquid solar products, because a) I am a skeptic b) it is just more consumables I have to buy c) my wife is worried they kids will drink it by accident in the water)
