After plaster... Timing and other questions

We are having our pool replastered. Just using plain old plaster, no fancy pebble stuff etc. How soon after the plaster is applied can the pool be filled? And how soon after the pool is filled can/should chemicals be added? For the first round of chemicals, can my regular pool guy just do his regular thing or is there something special we should do for the first bit? Thanks very much. -- A pool owner who knows very little about pools.

Actually water SHOULD be added as soon as the plaster is dry. The plasterers should be the ones to start filling the pool. Initially you will need to add a sequestering agent and get the pH & alkalinity balanced. I am sure your pool guy can do all of this for you.
