how dry does an IPE deck need to be to refinish

jwats612July 10, 2009

I have just finished cleaning, neutralizing and power washing my IPE deck and ready to refinish.

Would a couple of days of sunshine be enough to dry it out for staining? It seems to dry very quickly.

And how much time to I need after staining to make sure it does not rain?

Weather forecasts are dicey this time of year, so trying to find a window!

thanks in advance

John

John,

You will be fine with a day or two wait as Ipe does dry fast.

24 hours after staining is ideal to insure that stain is not affected by rain.
