Kitchen Towel Tute

geezerfolks_SharonG_FLOctober 8, 2008

For anyone that's interested, I just ran across a tutorial for adding the potholder at the top. I don't hand baste across the middle like she does, but use the machine with a large stitch. And, you could also do like Rosa does - clip the loop off and put it on a corner!

Have fun!!

Thanks for the link. Think I'll make some for the RV.

They really do make up quickly, Beverly. I also put some decorative stitching around the potholder to dress it up a bit. I like the idea of satin stitching an applique piece down, too. Or, if you're lucky enough to have an embroidery machine (like some of our quilting buds), a design to make it more personal. In this case, those potholders at 2 for $1 are ideal!

I was thinking of removing small loop and putting on a larger one (perhaps in a corner) to hang it on a cabinet knob too. I like to have one near my sink.

Can't embroidery, but can applique. Perhaps I should get an embroidery machine instead of a featherweight with my overtime earnings.

That is a really good tutorial!!!!
My entire fam wants me to make some for them for the holidays.
Sometimes a large fam (that doesn't sew LOL) can be fun, sometime not!!
They do appreciate everything I make for them so that counts a lot.

Beverly, I think you might get more use out of an embroidery machine. It'd certainly be more fun. You could haul it off to the retreat next year and do a demo! lol

Oh Rosa, You know you want to make those towels for your clan. @:)
