I HAVE A PENTAIR MINIMAX NT- ITS ABOUT A 2002 MODEL

I HAVE HAD TO REPAIR IT MANY TIMES --

NOW I HAVE A PROBLEM IM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO - WHEN THE POOL HEATER KICKS ON THE PIPES COMING OUT OF THE UNIT BANG LIKE THERE IS SOMETHING BROKEN LOOSE AND THE UNIT SHUTS OFF

I HAVE AN AUTOMATIC NATURE2 CLORINE GENERATOR NEXT TO IT.I CANT TELL WHERE THE NOICE IS COMING FROM.

I TOOK APART THE WHOLE INLET OUTLET HEAD AND FOUND NOTHING INSIDE !!

THANKS IN ADVANCE

The banging is due to an inadequate flow through the heat exchanger. This can be due to either the internal bypass failing/failed or the heat exchanger is loaded with calcium.

I cannot recommend putting a new heat exchanger in this heater, if that is what it needs. Heat exchangers are quite expensive.

I strongly suggest you replace this heater with either a Rheem/Ray Pac or a Pentair MasterTemp, both of which will provide you with a considerably more reliable use than the old NT series.
