Changing depths of existing pool

tamlifApril 17, 2013

We have a vinyl lined pool. There is a very small shallow part and then it QUICKLY slopes towards an extremely deep, deep end. (to accommodate a slide)

Needless to say it is very unsafe and slippery with small children so we want to make it safer.

We would want to fill in some of the deep end and make the slope less of an angle. There are also no stairs, so we would want to build stairs. possibly a tanning ledge to act as baby pool area.

Do you think this en devour is going to be costly for us? we are figuring since the hole is already there it might not be such a big project.

As far as materials go, do the vinyls come in custom sizes?
how much more expensive would it be to upgrade to better materials?

I am meeting with a couple of people this week to get real quotes. But I just want to arm myself with as much information as possible.

Thank you.

Are you wanting to remove the slide? and make it a shallow pool all the way?The steps below may be a cheaper way for you to go...
