Azek and salt

hopesprings_gwMarch 3, 2012

We just rebuilt our porch & steps with Azek. It's on the north side of the house and gets little to no sunshine in winter, and I'm noticing it's slippery when we get snow/ice - even after I've shoveled it. Does anyone know if salting the steps will damage the Azek material? And if so, what other options do I have to make the steps safe for use?

I do not believe Azek was designed to be a deck surface

Super helpful, dennisgli! Thanks so much. (I was hoping my contractors weren't out to lunch, millworkman! :))
