Submersible pump

Does anyone know if the motors for submersible pumps (typically made by Franklin) use sealed bearings or if they have open bearings lubricated by water?

All the Franklins I've seen are sealed, but won't tolerate much rise in temperature.

I suspected as much. The motor is obviously water-cooled and not really usable for other applications.
