Installing shut-off valves

JoeinClemmonsNovember 7, 2013

Hey Everyone,
Does someone have an idea what the average plumber would charge to install shut-off valves (with compression connections, no soldering) into half-inch copper pipe? I have 4 lines, so I need one valve installed into each..for a total of 4 valves. The lines are overhead water lines in a basement and are easy to access. I would typically do this job myself, but I am out of state undergoing extensive medical treatment..600 miles away from my house. I know that I probably don't require a licensed plumper for a job like this, and may go with a skilled and insured handyman. Any idea what the going rate would be for a job like this? Thanks in advance to all who reply!
