Please help with steam shower info

lonestarstateOctober 25, 2010

We're installing a steam shower in our master bath. It is a 4'x6' shower with ceiling lowered to 8'. Per Steamist website this is 624 cubic feet after correcting for surface material.

We have had bid, based on builder recs, a Steamist

SM-15 GENERATOR and a SM9009061 AUTO DRAIN.

Does this sound about right? Anyone with info or experience with these, good or bad? Any tips?

Thanks.

According to my calculator, 4x6x8 is 192 cubic feet. What kind of surface material and outside wall corrections do you have to get to 624?

I agree with the funny math. This is what the website claims is the corrected cf.

Natural stone and no exterior walls

When I run your specs on the website (with 1/2" natural stone) it comes up with 384 equiv cu ft and calls for an SM-11.
I get your 624 cf by using a 10 ft ceiling vice 8 ft.
