Plastic Knife & Labelmaker

luvs2dreamApril 11, 2013

Use a labelmaker & free plastic knives from the fast food restaurants to make plant pokes to identify your - seedlings, plants, or even potluck dishes at a picnic! Please post other things you could use them for.

That's a great idea! Thanks, luvs. I'm sorry that my mind is emptying in trying to think of other uses for them.

"free plastic knives from the fast food restaurants"

Hopefully you are not taking handfuls from the store.
They can be bought cheaply...

Don't worry LuAnn. I pay for every meal and plasticware is included. I never use my knife and had several stored in my work desk. I just thought it would be a good way to recycle them instead of throwing them away.

Away from the house when I pick up mail, I've been known to borrow letter opener from library.

A couple of weeks ago when I had my pocket knife on computer desk at library, a worker asked me to put it away. Didn't know they were operating an airplane!

Looks like one of those knives would be helpful there.

I like the idea of using them to label plant pots, garden rows (as I expect to have about 3/4 mile of garden this year ... and couldn't have kept all of those rows in order in my mind, even when I was much younger).

Sharpie would do, absent a labelmaker ... but the message tends to fade with time.

I've been using small sticks, with cardboard label stapled, plastic tape covering name on label.
