Howard's Restor-a-finish

wantoretire_didApril 29, 2014

Can someone direct me to any postings about this? It was popular several years ago here. I did a search in "Antiques" but there are no instructions and actually not good reviews.

I've used it before but that was also several years ago and I need a brush up on the instructions.

I've used it. I had to google my user ID + Howard's RAF to find some of the old posts describing my own particular method with it. Also, if you skim through the top few posts in one of them I linked to instructions for a different method used in Antiques forum that also got some great results. Below is a link to the GW posts.

The manufacturer's website has all the instructions. See link below.

Very important is to buy the correct color to match your furniture. And protect all surfaces, including your hands, as it stains everything.

I found it completely useless after reading all about it here on GW.

My husband uses this stuff regularly- almost like a polish- on our paneling, wood door frames etc. It is nothing like varnish, but it does make scratches less obvious and the wood look richer. I kind of like the new wood smell too.
