Sewer liner opinions

oneslipSeptember 1, 2010

Hello, I am in need of repairing 2 spots of my sewer lateral line, one spot in the roadway and the other spot in my yard. The unfortunate thing is my yard is a steep hill. An option we are going to fix the yard repair with is a cured in place liner, so I was wanting to know if anyone has gone with this repair of is familar with it. It makes a lot of sense and all my research on the net sounds like it is a very viable solution to digging and has a pretty good life expectancy.

I know most sewer companies want to dig but given that the repair would be in a steep hill, I can some real challenges keeping the erosion down as we are approaching fall so grass seed will not have a chance to establish roots and I may not even be able to buy sod this late in the season. Any opinions appreciated, thanks!

Dig it up and replace the line.

You can deal with the erosion using a silt fence and plant in spring if necessary.

It's still the best long term option.
