basement washer hook up

chuckbendigAugust 17, 2011

My washer hookup was installed by a renovation contractor in November of last year. The washer hookup is in the basement, and ties into the sanitary sewer which is about 4 feet above the basement floor. Sewer water is coming out of the washer hookup when we use the plumbing on the first floor. How do I fix this problem?

Drain line seems to be clogged downstream. Snake from the washer drain for a good length and see if that helps.

Does it have a trap & code approved standpipe?

You don't fix it. Your ding-bat contractor fixes it....and reimburses you for any damage done.

Send picture. Sounds like you do not have a standpipe.
