Fixing Tile on Steps
We have had a problem with our pool builder in fixing a problem, and IÂm looking for advice/suggestions. The tile contractor failed to put the tiles on the steps before plaster work was started. We were repeatedly told that this would not be a problem to fix. They drained the pool, cut out the plaster on the steps, and laid the tile. However, most of the tiles now have chips in the plaster around them, or cross cuts on the corners where the plaster was over-cut, leaving the tile work looking unprofessional and unsightly. The pool builder agreed and has repeatedly assured us that covering up the chips/cuts around the tiles would not be a problem. He has also stated that the solution is to drain the pool again, and install slightly larger tile, but this time being more careful about cutting out the plaster. This has been going on since last August and they have yet to fix the problem.
Any suggestions or solutions? IÂm on the verge getting another company to fix the problem and taking the pool builder to court to recoup the costs, but I want to explore all my options first.
