moving a toilet on a slab foundation $?

freshair2townsquareJune 25, 2011

We are trying to make our kids' bathroom accessible by expanding and rearranging. The toilet is currently near the middle of the expanded space & needs to go somewhere else, but the costs?

We need to move it approx two feet in one direction (not away from the vent). What kind of costs are we talking about, considering that it will require busting into the concrete foundation?

(We're in the Dallas area.)

If you have a simple slab (not post tensioned) it is mostly just hard work to cut the slab and install a new line.

It varies a lot by area, but $300 a foot (slab cutting, plumbing, slab repair) is not excessive.

It is a lot better to dry cut the slab than to just hammer it up.

If you have a post tensioned slab it gets harder since the tension members must be located and avoided in cutting.
