"Hairy Heel Wart" aka "Hoof Wart"

betsyhacSeptember 18, 2013

My pig, Pudge, has one of these. The vet has removed it twice (over the course of about 18 mos.), and he gave me iodine to put on it.

Has anyone successfully treated this? I'm reading that regular cleaning, soaking, wrapping and vetericyn are all good ideas.

Any help appreciated.

i've heard of this but have never had any of my pot bellied pigs experience it. it's my understanding that antibiotics are the course of treatment. are you able to keep it dry and/or wrapped while you treat it with topicals?
