Copper to PVC
Is there any violation with cutting an existing vertical copper drain line, and adding a female copper fitting to it, and then screwing a male PVC fitting into it, allowing me to use PVC for any repairs above the new connection?
I understand that you don't want to put copper threads into a female PVC fitting, but as long as I use PVC male threads into a copper female fitting, is this ok?
Or, can a Fernco be used to make this connection, since it is just a drain line & not under pressure?
Thanks in advance.
