should I manually regenerate softener?

phrogMay 24, 2013

Our Kinetico softener has stopped regenerating, but sounds normal if I set it manually.

I've made sure the salt is loose down to the bottom of tank.

Is it a good idea to run it manually once or twice a day, while we wait (about 2 weeks) until the repair person can come?

Yes, try to regen manually as often as it was regenerating. How long did it take them to get to you when you called for an appointment when you purchased the softener? I bet it was faster than two weeks. See if you can hustle them up a bit - two weeks is too long for you to have to either regen manually or live with hard water.
