Freezing in Aluminum Pans

joytwo1839December 4, 2012

Is it olay to make cornbread dressing up to the point where it is soupy. pour into the disposable baking pans and then thaw in fridge on Christmas Eve and bake the next day. I have a concern about the dressing reacting to the pans and a concern about freexing the dressing.
Please forgive any mispelled words - I am almost blid.

Joy, that should be just fine. I often freeze things like lasagna in disposable aluminum pans, and the tomato sauce is far more acidic than cornbread stuffing is.

I've never tried to freeze dressing but I can't imagine anything that's in it which would make it difficult to freeze.

Merry Christmas.

I'm with Annie, I would think it would be just fine. Back in the day, all the frozen TV dinners were in aluminum pans.

It will be fine joytwo. I often make the stuffing for Thanksgiving and Christmas both at Thanksgiving. Not cooked and freeze half to stuff in the turkey for Christmas and some in a pan. I have done it in aluminum pans but usually I just do it in big plastic bags since I'm going to use some for the bird.

I always make cornbread dressing before Thanksgiving and freeze. I don't freeze it in aluminum pans, but I don't think that should matter.
