'Speed connect' faucets - thoughts

homeboundMarch 7, 2011

Anybody have thoughts/opinions on the reliability of "speed connect" faucets by American Standard? Since the pop-up uses a cable, I wonder about the ease of removing the pop-up for cleaning, etc. down the road. I suppose the drain could be installed "sideways" or with the pop-up connection toward the front of the cabinet to make it easier to remove. Anybody here serviced these things? Thanks.

I recently installed an American Standard with the speed connect. The cable portion all disconnects readily for installation, and service presumably, too, down the line.

While it was simpler than other bath faucet installs I've done, if you've replaced a few before I would say it wouldn't matter to you. To a first time DIYr -- maybe worth the extra simplicity.
