replace this shower supply part?

areehendersFebruary 14, 2013

I have been replacing some plumbing stuff that was leaking related to this shower and some crimped pipes in the crawlspace. Fortunately the hole was already in the wall, and I saw this part looks pretty corroded. I don't know anything about plumbing but have learned how to solder a few copper fittings and replace a shower drain. Anyway, I'm wondering if this fitting needs to be replaced and how that would be done, or if that bolt on the top can be replaced. Not leaking now, but it's corroded and I hope to close the hole in the wall soon. The only thing I know about this part is that it's on the hot water supply, and this is behind the shower. I'm hoping actual plumbers would recognize it. I'm afraid to just take it apart and see what happens.

I think A1 Plumbing of Baltimore hires folks that either:
A) Can't read, or
B) Are thieves.

You don't get to attempt to steal advertising space on this site. By doing so, I have to assume you are incapable of reading the site TOU or that you don't care. Either way, were I in the Baltimore area, I would not hire a plumber who is either uneducated or dishonest.

You asked.
