Can I make this ahead of time

I have to take macroni and cheese to Thanksgiving dinner about an hour away from where I live. Can I make the casserole the night before, not bake it but put it in the fridge for the night then put it in the oven the next morning to bake? I'm not sure if t will get mushy sitting in the fridge overnight. What do you think?

lindac will get mushy....but I don't think too mushy to be good.

It will be fine. Slightly undercook (by only a minute or two) the pasta, and add a little extra liquid to your cheese sauce. Of course, you won't want to add the crumb topping the night before--just take that in a separate container, and add before serving.

I wouldn't plan on baking before leaving--just get there early enough to put it in the oven in time to get hot for dinner. That way you can carry it cold, in a cooler.
