Camera for granddaughter

ilovetnJanuary 3, 2009

My granddaughter, who is 24, is looking for a new camera. She has a physical handicap and cannot use her right hand. She has a Canon Rebel XT, but that is awkward for her to use all the time.

She had a small Konica/Minolta 5 mexapixel that I had purchased for a gift for her and she LOVED that camera. She carried it in her purse all the time. Unfortunately, she dropped her purse right before Christmas and unaware to her, the camera fell out in a parking lot. Of course, no one turned it in.

She is on SSI, so funds are limited. She did get some money for Christmas and is looking for something in the $100 to $200 range. She would like at least 8 mp. and a small size. Image stabilzation would be great. An added extra would be an optical viewfinder for outdoor shots as well as a lcd screen.

Pictures are very important to her. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA

The small Canons and Panasonic Luminix seem nice.
